Stefany & Dan
{Engagement Photos in Lanesboro}

This past Saturday I had the privilege of spending the afternoon with Stefany & Dan. Stefany is the sister of one of my best friends so this was extra fun for me. I had heard all about Dan, how wonderful he was and how happy Stefany was when she was with him. Within minutes of seeing the couple together I completely understood. All I can say is this: they made my job easy. Here are a few of my very favorites from the day.

Chuck & Debbie’s Holiday Family Photos

I had the pleasure late last week of photographing the Jeffers family. I have known this crew forever so it was great to get to spend time with them and their families during this session. We were able to get tons of great shots of each of the individual families and the larger family as a whole. This was also a big day for my studio as I was able to use the new studio space for the first time! It was a blast and I can’t wait to get more settled in this new space. More on that in a future post, but indoor sessions are now available. Here are a few of my favorites from my time with their family. . . and what a beautiful family it is!

I think this last one might be my favorite from the day. The big brothers sure do love little Eli! So sweet.

Thanksgiving Family Reunion
at Cedar Valley Resort

Located just 5 minutes from Lanesboro, Minnesota is the beautiful and quiet little town of Whalan. Tucked away at the edge of town is Cedar Valley Resort. Cedar Valley is an absolutely gorgeous lodging property with many log cabins tucked into the bluffs. Last Wednesday I met part of the Thompson family down at this resort for a family photo session. The family was from all of the United States and it was a treat to get to spend some time with them photographing them while they were all together on vacation. Several of the family members were from much warmer places (Florida and California), but they even braved our “warm” late November temperatures in the 40′s to get a few outside pictures at the end of our session. Here are a few of the images I liked the best from the day.

Kevan Family Photos {Fall Colors in Lanesboro, Minnesota}

Matt & Calla and the boys met me down in Lanesboro last Friday for a family session. Their boys have completely won me over. Everywhere I looked I found beautiful smiles. I had them climbing on rocks (and of course jumping off), sitting on trees and at the end we even got to feed some fish out at the fish hatchery. I hope they had half as much fun as I did! Susy’s Kiddos
{Fall Family Photos in Lanesboro, MN}

Every now and then a session has to be rescheduled for weather. . . Because it’s late fall and Susy’s kiddos are small and we really wanted to be outside it took us three attempts to beat the weather. Like they say though, the third time’s the charm. We finally got outside for pictures and I’m so glad we did! It was wonderful chasing her kiddos around the Habberstad House in Lanesboro looking for that moment when they would slow down for just a moment . . . and “click”. Here are just a few from our session last week.

Samantha’s Fall Family Photos {Lanesboro, MN}

When you schedule a photo session for the fall you never know what you’re going to get. A few weeks ago the leaves blew off of most of the trees in the area. Fortunately for Sam and the girls those leaves had to land somewhere. We found a gorgeous hillside for their photos, complete with tons of gorgeous leaves. The sun filled the space with beautiful soft light and the girls’ smiles did the rest. What a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Ryan & Melissa’s Fall Engagement Session
{rural Lanesboro, MN}

Fall is one of my favorite times of year as a photographer. The variety of colors and textures is wonderful, and you just never know what you’re going to find on a given day. Ryan & Melissa wanted to head down to a place outside town for their photos and I’m so happy we did. The fall colors and casual setting really made their session fantastic. Thanks for having me take these guys! I have a ton more to show you soon. This first one might just be my favorite. . . for some reason I just love the stone & the vines and the romantic feeling they give the photo.

Marcus & Caroline
{Lanesboro, MN Family Photos}

Last weekend I was fortunate enough to get to meet Caroline & Marc and their two kiddos Bradley (3 years) and Lorelai (almost 1) for a family photo session. Bradley was so sweet and once he started talking about firetrucks he just lit up. I had a hard time narrowing down their pictures to my very favorites, but here they are.

Dakota Senior Photos
{St. Charles, MN Class of 2012}

What a treat to spend an afternoon with Dakota and his dad! We went all around St. Charles using an old set of metal steps, brick walls and the High School Baseball field. We will finish up Dakota’s senior portraits with some great indoor images as soon as the new studio out here on the farm is complete, but I thought I’d put up a few “Sneak Peek Previews” in the mean time.

We were also able to get some great photos of Dakota with his dad and his sister and brother. Here are two of my very favorites.

Jaeger Family Photos

Elaine & Harvey had their family together down in Whalan last week for a reunion and thought it would be fun to have some pictures to commemorate the occasion. Little Ella and Ian were so fun to work with & really loved those puppies Grandma gave them. It rained most of the day, but as luck would have it the clouds stopped the bad weather for just long enough. We managed to get outside for a few minutes and got some lovely fall photos.

Ella had just gotten this princess costume for Halloween. I think she looks very royal in this image as she fixes her crown.
