It was a real treat last week to get to meet Tyler. He came down from St. Charles to have some senior photos taken and I was able to take some of my first outdoor photos of the season. I love having my camera in hand when I am outside! It was also a lot of fun to meet Tyler’s dog Piper! What a beautiful animal. Here are a few of my favorites.

Well, what can I say Dakota? You make my job easy. It was great having you out to the new studio for your indoor session. What a happy accident that you hadn’t yet returned your tux from Snow Days! I LOVE how those shots turned out. I’ll have the rest for you soon, but here are a few of my favorites for now.

I am blown away by the beautiful December weather we have been having. Joey came out for an indoor senior photo session this week and we were able to get outside for a number of different photos without being too cold. I love it when things work out that way. It was great working with Joey. He is 100% football through and through and we were able to get some great sports shots. We also had a fun time playing around with some new backgrounds I’d just gotten in. Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot:

After the shoot I had an idea for a really fun sports composite. Here’s what I have come up with so far. Designing things like this is so much fun. See what you think:

Thanks for coming out to the studio Jane & Joey! It was great having you here. I can’t wait to show you the rest.

To wrap up the day last Saturday I met Braden down in Lanesboro and we went around taking fun senior photos. We started off near the water and then headed downtown to see what we could find.

Braden – thanks for all the smiling! I’m really looking forward to the indoor basketball shots in a couple of weeks. I’ll let you know as soon as the studio is ready.

Surprises just kept finding us during Collin’s photo session last week: beautiful fall colors, gorgeous weather, and even a sweet Dodge Viper. It was a great morning for a photo shoot and I have a lot of favorites from our session. Here are the ones I narrowed it down to.

Bluff Country in the Fall is a really beautiful thing. The river and bluffs are well suited for brilliant colors. So, When the wind started blowing a week or so ago we stepped it up a notch and got out into the woods before the wind blew any harder. Thankfully the fall colors were easy to find. Here are a few of my favorites from Cory’s senior session.

What a treat to spend an afternoon with Dakota and his dad! We went all around St. Charles using an old set of metal steps, brick walls and the High School Baseball field. We will finish up Dakota’s senior portraits with some great indoor images as soon as the new studio out here on the farm is complete, but I thought I’d put up a few “Sneak Peek Previews” in the mean time.

We were also able to get some great photos of Dakota with his dad and his sister and brother. Here are two of my very favorites.

We’ll see you again soon Dakota!

It was such a treat to meet Johna last Saturday. In the pre-session consultation I learned that there was a special piano in Grandma’s house that Johna wanted pictures with.  “We don’t really want the stairs in the background though”. . . So, on Saturday I set out with backdrops galore and met Johna and Lisa at Grandma’s house. With a blue-toned backdrop in place we started our session. I am really pleased with how the piano shots turned out.

The rest of the day was just as much fun. We went out to a few locations in rural St. Charles and rural Chatfield, MN for the remainder of our session. I had a great time getting to know Johna and her mom and am really excited about sharing the rest of their proofs with them. Here are a few additional sneak peeks from the day. I’m particularly fond of this first one. . . what beautiful eyes!

We had two gorgeous days for Karen’s Senior Pictures. Initially we had hoped to get a lot more images by the dam down in Lanesboro, but the day we were there the water was more-or-less shut off. Thankful, there is plenty of water in the area and we found a great little creek nearby for the water shots. Karen was fantastic. Trendy clothes, beautiful smile, and of course, some awesome shoes! We took a TON of pictures during this session and I truly had a hard time selecting my very favorites. Here are the ones that made the top of my list. I hope you like them as much as I do. Thanks Karen!

Kent came out to the farm for his senior pictures. The day was very windy so we had to tuck ourselves inside the buildings or in not-so-windy corners, but I think the results turned out great. We even took some pictures with his “beater” of a car (his words, not mine). He thought his friends would get a kick out of those. Thanks for smiling for me Kent! I’ll have the rest ready for you in a couple of weeks.
