It has been a privilege over the past 6 months or so to work with so many great high school seniors.  I really enjoy getting to know each of them so much better.  One of my favorite pieces to work on for each senior is a photo collage. This is the type of piece that can really be just about the senior and what it is that moves them.  I’ve just finished a 10×20 collage for Kirsten.  She is a very happy young woman and has definitely gotten bit by the travel bug.  She toured Europe last summer playing her saxophone and I do believe she would go back tomorrow if it were an option.  I think some of that comes through in this collage:

Soooo,  Class of 2014 . . . it’s time to start thinking about what defines you.  Think on it for the next few months & then let help you create something truly special and beautiful for you to enjoy for years to come.

I had a blast with Kirsten late last week.  She wanted fall colors & man did we hit the jackpot. Southeast Minnesota was in peek season and we had our pick of the most beautiful leaves around. Here are a few of my favorites from our session.

One of Kirsten’s other requests was to do something a little different. Her siblings both had pictures with trees and mom wanted to have a picture of Kirsten with a tree to go along with the others.  Kirsten wanted hers to be unique and different than the others.  So, instead of leaning on a tree, Kirsten climbed one. I love the results!

I was excited for Johanna’s photo shoot late last week.  She had some great ideas for her senior portraits and I was looking forward to seeing what we could come up with.  We had so much fun that the two hour session ran out pretty quickly.  So, we decided on one more hour in studio early this week.  That additional hour was soooo worth it.  We were able to get some great photos that never would have been possible that first day.  At any rate, here are my very favorites from my sessions with Jo.

Now. . . here’s where things get really fun. :)   Jo wanted to do some unusual senior portraits for her sport photography.  She wanted to try for some photos in the water.  These final shots are actually done in my studio. . . though it’s kind of hard to believe it.  See what you think.

I got to try out a new location Monday with Jake.   I am always on the lookout for great new spots, so I was excited to go on location with Jake at Oakenwald Terrace B&B in Chatfield on Monday.  The historic stone wall beind their B&B is gorgeous. Thanks for letting us enjoy it too! Here are a few of my favorites from our session.

What a great day for some great photos!  Blue skies 80 degrees and tons of great spots around Lanesboro for all kinds of photos.  I have gone through Linnea’s photos 3 times now just to narrow them down to the five I like the best.  What fun!  Here are the ones I (finally) chose.  See what you think.

At the end of our session we decided to bring winter to August . . . and shoot some cool snowboarding pictures. I LOVE how these turned out!!!  It was really, really hot but so very worth it.

Cars, sports, and lots of attitude went into this senior session.  What a blast!  We started out with the car and ended up somehow making Rushford, MN look like it was an urban/metro setting.  It was so hard to pick just a few favorites, but I managed to narrow it down.  Enjoy!

It was so much fun to have Merissa and her mom out to the studio last Thursday for Merissa’s senior portrait session.  We made great use of our time and got a huge variety of images, from formal indoor portraits to really fun and funky grunge/metal photos to beautifully dreamy photos in a meadow of clover by an old stone mill this shoot had a little bit of everything.  I had a hard time narrowing the photos down to my favorites, but I finally did. Here are my top picks from the shoot.
