Stefany & Dan {Engagement Photos in Lanesboro}

This past Saturday I had the privilege of spending the afternoon with Stefany & Dan. Stefany is the sister of one of my best friends so this was extra fun for me. I had heard all about Dan, how wonderful he was and how happy Stefany was when she was with him. Within minutes of seeing the couple together I completely understood. All I can say is this: they made my job easy. Here are a few of my very favorites from the day.

Lane & Audree Spring Photo Session

There are days when I realize that I am in the right profession, today was one of those days. Stephanie brought her kiddos down from Byron for a photo session. Little Audree needed 6 month photos taken, and Lane needed his three year pictures. Lane was a wonderful, typical three-year-old and we played all around the studio. I love letting little one’s just play until their comfortable because that’s when the real smiles come out.

Audree is in one of the gorgeous baby phases. What a beautiful, healthy baby girl. I just love her to bits! I am particularly fond of these two images. I think they really capture her personality. So sweet!

Tyler’s Senior Photos {St Charles MN Class of 2012}

It was a real treat last week to get to meet Tyler. He came down from St. Charles to have some senior photos taken and I was able to take some of my first outdoor photos of the season. I love having my camera in hand when I am outside! It was also a lot of fun to meet Tyler’s dog Piper! What a beautiful animal. Here are a few of my favorites.

I had the opportunity to work recently with the wonderful massage therapists down at the Lanesboro Day Spa. Located behind the Stone Mill Hotel & Suites. The therapists have joined forces to offer even more wonderful services. Alison & Bradley were featured today in the special Wedding Guide for the Bluff Country Newspaper Group. They were married on September 3rd of this year at Christ Lutheran Church in Preston, Minnesota with the reception out on Alison’s family farm. They were an absolutely lovely couple to work with.

Mamie & Chris’s Wedding {St. Columban’s Church, Preston, MN}

I received a very excited email a couple of months ago from Mamie. “I’m getting married!” . . . “and I’d love it if you would be our photographer.” I think I was almost as excited as she was. I have known Mamie for several years and happen to think she is terrific. It was my pleasure to get to be a part of her day. Since Mamie lives out east (in the Washington D.C. area) we communicated over phone lines and emails in the months leading up to the wedding. Last Saturday the big day finally arrived and it was a real treat.

When you plan a wedding in January in Minnesota you envision blizzards, ice, and difficult travel conditions. That, however, is not anywhere near what we got last weekend. The ceremony was held at St. Columban’s Catholic Church in Preston, MN and the day was gorgeous without so much as a snowflake. Temperatures were in the 40′s! Amazing. As Father Tom said in their service, “This marriage must truly be meant to be.” I couldn’t agree more.

The wedding reception was held at Wheelers in Harmony, MN. The Bride took special care with the reception details.

Beautiful winter trees and a romantic table for two set just for the Bride & Groom made the dinner feel like a romantic outdoor dinner.

Chris and Mamie enjoyed their first dance as man and wife followed by a special dance for the groom and his mom.

The flowergirl and ringbearer really new how to bust a move! These kids can dance.

Congratulations Mamie & Chris! Best wishes for a wonderful life together.

Romantic New Year’s Eve Wedding {Inn at Sacred Clay, Lanesboro, MN}

What can I say about Suzanne & Jerome? First, they are 100% through-and-through hopeless romantics; second, they are both wonderful, kind individuals; and third, they are an absolutely perfect match for one another. It was my pleasure to be with them this New Year’s Eve at the Inn at Sacred Clay bed and breakfast outside of Lanesboro, MN as they exchanged vows and celebrated the beginning of their life together. From the wooden wedding bands made of juniper heart wood, to the uniquely crafted vows that the two of them wrote the was truly an expression of their abundant love for each other. I have had a particularly hard time narrowing down my favorites so I hope you enjoy the many images I would like to share with this post.

Suzanne & Jerome, congratulations on your marriage. I wish you the best in all of the wonderful things that are sure to come in your future together.

Joey’s Sneak Peek Previews {Lanesboro, MN Class of 2012}

I am blown away by the beautiful December weather we have been having. Joey came out for an indoor senior photo session this week and we were able to get outside for a number of different photos without being too cold. I love it when things work out that way. It was great working with Joey. He is 100% football through and through and we were able to get some great sports shots. We also had a fun time playing around with some new backgrounds I’d just gotten in. Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot:

After the shoot I had an idea for a really fun sports composite. Here’s what I have come up with so far. Designing things like this is so much fun. See what you think:
