Your senior year is here! Now, what about your senior photos??? These pictures mark an amazing time in your life. They mark the end of one huge chapter and the beginning of another. You will look back on these photos years later and wonder where the time went. So, how can I make your senior photos really show off who YOU are? Well, I’m glad you asked. 😉 Here are some tips to make your senior photo session unique to you.
1. Location: Consider the locations you want for your session. Indoors, outdoors or both? The location you chose for your photos can make for a very beautiful photo session and it can say a lot about you. Do you have a special spot you like to visit? A family farm? Maybe somewhere in the woods? A favorite coffee shop, fishing hole, or sports court? The options are limitless. Choosing locations that you love can really make the photos memorable.
2. Accessories: Adding some jewelry to your outfit can really make a statement. A beautiful necklace and bracelet, a belt buckle, earrings, or a scarf can be beautiful additions to make your senior pictures stand out. Be careful not to overdo it though, remember you are the focus of the picture, not your jewelry. A little goes along way.
3. Props: What are a few of your favorite things? Adding a prop or two to your photos is a great way to show your personality through pictures. Bring along your basketball, a musical instrument, a pet, a few books, whatever is it that makes you shine! If you have some ideas but don’t quite have the props gathered yet, I would be more than happy to givemy input and help you through this process. I might even have the perfect prop just sitting around my studio, so don’t be afraid to ask!
4 . Poses: There are the common photo poses that you will probably do for some of your photos, but a great way to make your photos different from others is to pose differently. If you are into things like sports or dance, think about having a photo taken of you in a dance or sports pose. Let your poses be natural to who you are and what you love to do.
5.Outfits: Choose clothes you feel comfortable and natural in. Take some photos in more casual wear and then switch to a summer dress or your prom dress for a more elegant look. If you play sports bring along your uniform. Bring along some bold and bright colors along with some softer tones to bring variety.
Follow these tips and you will be well prepared to make your senior photos unique and beautiful!
P.S. Remember, I am here for you 100% of the way on all of these things! I love what I do and am happy & very willing to help you coordinate outfits, choose locations, select props, and whatever else you need.
