Introducing Devin!
Devin is a hard working young man who loves all things farming.
Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: I plan to serve in the United States Navy and will ship out for bootcamp on June 24th.
Q: What will you miss most about high school?
A: Sports will be a big one for sure, I have learned great life lessons while doing them.
Q: What teacher will you miss the most?
Andrew Sobota, because he understood work ethic and how it is brought forward in his students. He helped me when I was trying to make problems harder for me than they actually were. He respected the way I learn things which I respected him back the same as a teacher.
Q: What are you looking forward to most after graduation?
With joining the Navy I look forward to traveling the world and getting to embrace different cultures.
Q: Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
A: I see myself in 10 years hopefully doing something I enjoy. 10 years is a lot of time to think that far because I don’t truly know where I’ll end up being. Possibly taking over the family farm with other family members, being a teacher at a high school, or still serving in the United States Navy. But, I know for sure I have a bright future ahead of me.
Q: What’s one high school memory you’ll never forget?
A: Probably having to learn school material at home. That for sure was vastly different than I’m used to. I can’t settle on one memory, but I will miss the side conversations in class with other classmates that sat next to me and telling each other how much we hate the assignment that was given.
Q: What was your best excuse for being late to class?
My locker is a mess, and couldn’t find the right book or folder I needed for that class.
Q: What is the best advice you could give to underclassman?
A: My best advice would be to definitely ask questions along the way, and if you make a mistake learn from it and move forward in life. If we don’t make a few mistakes are we actually doing anything meaningful to learn from in life?
Q: Anything else you’d like to share?
I will definitely be very grateful for where I grew up in last almost 19 years of my life. I will take that with me with pride. In my next chapter of life, I will also take the abilities I have learned this past year in learning to adapt to what life brings.
